If it's even decent $40K seems low.

Seems like the better plan would be to go to the city council meeting and prove to them that you are not running a STR.

@Carlos Paz It was good for me, it's very straight forward step-by-step process.

I've talked with the broker and he seems to think he can get the loan back down to where it was originally quoted.

In the old days (before I was working) people usually had to put a much larger amount down and it seems we are going back to that for now. 

It seems to me it would be difficult to even finance a large down payment if a lot of your money is tied up in assets.

The property seem to have <50% occupancy.

I can't seem to wrap my head around the numbers regarding how much benefit I would get from leveraging my properties to purchase more.
