I'll highlight a couple of hurdles we encountered:1. 

This industry is still littered with people just out to try and scam a quick buck or sell you on their guru course.

I almost paid for one once but was worried it was a scam.

In the cases we've encountered this year, the most important need was to get the house sold. 

The taxes are so high, properties have to be substantially discounted.Anybody else encounter this in other parts of the country?

As a new investor, reading this entire thread has got me feeling a bit worried about not recognizing the scam when I see it.

Has anyone else encountered this issue, or can suggest a bank that has the know how to open an account with the 401K/LLC structure?

There just seems to be a substantial amount of risk and liability exposure in terms of the type and scope of crimes/issues either the host or client can encounter -- not to mention what actual property owner could get looped into.
