Scraping the property and replacing it with another home is possible, and what is a cost effective recommendation for a replacement. 

There should be no reason you can not find a replacement by then.

The intent is to preserve the property though, you cannot go and add on rooms or replace laminate countertops with granite and expect to be paid for that.
