During my review of the files it seems that there is a missing assignment chain on the loan.

But so you're saying it doesn't matter because even if there's someone in the chain that has a claim on the property, their claim is neither here nor there because they didn't pay the taxes.

As George mentioned there is more money than deals which is a true statement but depending on where you are in the chain of RE some folks may be willing to help you and you never know someone may be ready to offload and get out of RE and need someone to buy them out.

Most likely, someone mistyped a MLS number into some system, and that set the chain of events in motion.

Briefly- fruit orchards and vineyards,  hydro dams/ electricity generation, block chain / data centers, aerospace supply mfg, etc.  

From what I'm told, all owners in the chain of title has some responsibility.

The original grantor (the foreclosing bank) is happy to help and will resign a new deed, but the real estate attorney says this would be a problem as I'm already on record as the owner and it would cause title chain issues.

Find out if this is so or if he's just plain irresponsible and is pulling your chain because you're a newbie landlord.
