If it's baseboard electric heat and hot water, it's especially urgent to get this taken care of.Either way, I'd find a way to get a second meter installed pronto. it should be a pretty general implication that any advice given should not be followed unless you can confirm it is legal in your state.

When I reached out to a lender the other day about pre-qualification and pre-approval, I told her how much money I had in my bank accounts and she said this wouldn't be enough money for the down payment on the price range of properties I was looking at.

Wasn't until formal property survey resulted in obvious problems with legal description that seller abruptly "cancel's" the sale stating their need to "fix the property description issues".

So basically I'm trying to figure out right now who I am going to receive money from to recieve pre-approval, then I'm going to learn where to find a deal and wait or move on a deal.
