I only recently began to educate myself on real estate investing and am looking for how to get involved in the industry in Durham. 

I can go the legal route to enforce their contract but I feel like involving lawyers is not worth it, it is not worth dealing with these types of people.

Hi guys and gals,I'm looking into an off market deal that was brought to me by a colleague, and I'm wondering what the etiquette is around getting your agent involved. 

It is designed for a novice who cannot do the rehab work themselves and so requires a licensed GC involved.

I stayed involved in the deal the entire time and made sure I contributed to show my value and desire to learn the industry.

My memory is that a court was not involved. 

We are reaching out to the old original owner with the criminal history (involving ordering a hit on his partner which occurred unsuccessfully, an IRS agent and the mail man).

He acknowledged they are pretty high as a rule so if my stuff is running very well currently without excessive personal involvement on my part, I might hold off to avoid those costs and reevaluate the DST again at a later date.

Your overall experience investing in a syndication involves much more than the deal, or the yield you could achieve.
