So it really depends if you like the house, if you have kids, are you handy with fixes around the house, is your wife good with moving to not necessarily ‘the perfect house’.  

How is that making for a comfortable living situation for my kids and myself?

When I was a kid we were in a rental and I had a hamster.  

I mostly use that time to get things done around the house (laundry, cleaning, etc.) or exercising before my wife/kids get up.

There was an interesting coincidence in that our kids were the same age as their kids when they purchased the property 18 years ago.

The school my kids go to would encourage them to tell any kids spewing that much nonsense to “walk away”

If nothing else, I'd expect more wear and tear if there are going to be a bunch of kids there.

Turns out he went to jail after kidnapping and beating his ex-girlfriend and her new lover damn near to death (the guy is now in prison for life, so I guess he's done paying his rent...)Turns out the incident happened a few weeks after the 1st quarter inspection, so the place was vacant for almost 3 months without me or management knowing.  3 months is PLENTY of time for multiple groups of squatters to run through it, neighborhood kids to have their way with the place, etc... 

I have lent with seller financing and the taxes creamed me with kids at home. 

I mention this because this area has never been through the boom and bust cycle, there are only a few hundred people living there, it is prime riverfront property, in comfortable commute distance to the Arsenal, and they send their kids to the good local school system, Madison, through an agreement between the municipalities.
