I don't think we need to talk about "opinions" or "interpretations" of law, as they can vary with each attorney or laymen, and nobody is correct or incorrect until case law resolves the issue.

First, I'll say that anyone who says a bank won't finance a property of that size is incorrect or is just speaking too generally.  

@Jess White when you said "degree has nothing to do with correlation of success" that is incorrect.

Thereafter, as soon as the day after the closing on the replacement property, you are certainly free to pull equity out which will not result in a taxable event so you appear to already have a fairly good understanding of the process but I do not see anything glaring out as incorrect.
