Paying for an appraisal in advance is legitimate but typical cost is $450 and only 1 is needed unless the subject property is valued over $1 million.

@Jason Roberts  there a two schools of thought.. were as 1 million in most of the better west coast markets is 2 deals at best 3 deals.. most folks will go to HML if they have any experience at all..

I've been searching liquid and came across this post...Chemung County and a couple others here in NY just got approved for $500 million in revitalization money.
