Be sure that you have your own representation, even when working with a builder/developer. 

Price per square foot is a good start, also reach out to a local developer or builder and see if they can give you some insight!

There's a lot of national home builders who are TERRIBLE. 

What would be the best way to meet or work with land developers, or builders here in Utah?

@Robert Reynolds I acted as owner/builder (no GC) on a conversion of an existing space to an ADU and I will say that it was very difficult, especially with other things to focus on like work and family.

They sell their builder grade McMansion in Phoenix for $500K and move hear and get 2x the property for $300K.

THOWs on the west coast can be pricey, but I've found a builder of Tiny Homes on Wheels that builds beautiful cottage type homes with a start price of $25,000.

Both homes are with the same builder, so we may be able to move the earnest over, if we decided to move on to build at Addison. 

Your wallet and your body will thank you for avoiding the stress. 

The HVAC guy mentioned something around 'builder shd have set 3 separate pipes for each unit' but i couldn't grasp the technicality.
