If not, I would ask yourself what kind of investor you want to be, (active, passive etc) and where exactly in the Midwest you would want to invest and the people out there you want to start networking with / building a team.

I don't know where you're at but if I were you, I would start trying to find the oldest areas of the country to live, network, and operate in.

Jack,IRA LLC is not a DIY project, you should use a professional who can set this up correctly.

As of now I have a solid network of laborers each with their own specialty of trades at really good prices, my partner, has been a contractor for over 30 years himself and managed many flipping properties and has a good understand about the industry.

Some say residential you get long term financing and bigger buyer pool and commercial is limited for resale.For a mainly residential investor that does not have the commercial network I could see why they think that way.
