@Sarah Present - make sure you bleach the garage floor.

We have it in our own home in vulnerable places.I would suggest cleaning it with a bleach solution, then spraying it with a product like Concrobium Mold Control.

As described in the article you dry out the place with AC cycles and bleach the studs.

I would try this first.The less expensive solution is to spray wash the roof with a 50 percent mix of water and bleach to get rid of the algae.

There was mold showing on the walls previously and he bleached it and painted over it.Now, what do we do about this?

Just stop the source of the water, replace any porous materials that can't be treated with Microban (or just bleach).

Any portions that were not removed because of minimal damage were wiped down with bleach and painted over with killz.I think mold removal is overblown but at the same time you want it gone.  

When my sewer exploded at my property all that needed to happen was wash the floors down, soak them in bleach and fix the pipe.

We have had to do substantial gutting of the property, spray every surface with bleach, and leave the windows opened for months to remove the smell.  

Personally I like to wipe inside of fridge with bleach, toilets bleach, tubs bleach and after using that and comet on sinks. the smells are pretty much done with.
