If you were really gung ho about it, you could approach the city looking for grants, etc and lobby the city to allow them.

Then if you want to rent out 2 rooms maybe you could grant the "in house" tenant a PM role to make sure the house is treated properly when you guys are traveling.

I know one thing we are looking into is getting grants and subsidies from local, county, and state governments as tiny homes count as affordable housing and there’s a lot of money the government is giving away towards just that.
