I love RE because it's helped both my husband and I find the motivation to get out of debt and have a wonderful financial future.

I agree with the poster that said you can’t get involved in things or it will burn you out, but Thant doesn’t mean you can’t show some sympathy or offer help.The woman has been seriously ill and lost her job in the last year and had two kids murdered. she hasnt ask for a thing, so shes not scamming you, they have been long term tenants who paid off the mortgage in a year, so you have no mortgage but are still guaranteed most of the rent.It could do wonders for her (and you) to send her a compliance card and flowers or a ham or something, and let her know if she wants to move to someplace she would feel safer or has no bad memories you would be willing to work with her caseworker to find something else.

Fortunately, my taxes for the year was not finished by August, actually was done wrong, the new CPA went on vacation, so I had my old CPA review what was done and he had to redo the taxes from scratch.

I did a quick search, and found some people who said they had borrowed against their TSP for real estate investing purposes, but I was wondering if I could pool the hive mind for some more details on the process.When borrowing from the TSP do you arrange it through the TSP or is it a 3rd party lender with the TSP as collateral?

I was wondering if anyone else has gone through the process of obtaining a HELOC through a lender, and what tips/advice you would share for the process?

I wonder if people are looking at the math or simply buying anything they can get their hands on and banking entirely on price appreciation.
