Betting on appreciation is speculation, not investing, as is betting that interest rates will go down.

I would speculate that the casual labor would apply primarily to kids/teenagers for a one time unskilled task, performed by someone that does NOT make their living doing same.There was a time when every fall I would hire some kids from the local Seminary to rake the leaves...casual labor.
