I am from Singapore and what makes me get interested with US real estate is the higher rental yield compare to Asia. 1% monthly rent from property price seems easily attainable in US, however this figure can only be obtain in Asia during the 2007-2008 subprime crisis.

I would say the best thing you could do is just stop in at the bank/credit union you regularly bank with (our regular credit union didn’t have the Absolute lowest rate but the convenience of having money available in the same institution made it worth it for us) - just walk in and say “I would like to talk to someone about a heloc”.
