I agree with @Daniel MohnkernDaniel you being in California has a whole different set of potential problems as my parents have been on the wrong side of this situation and the end result was the tenants got to stay in the property for 9 months and then they had to pay for their moving expenses because of a "perceived" violation of their rights....Anyways as far as whether the property is abandoned if you are getting rent money then I would not disturb it, if you stop getting money and they are gone then thats a different story.

Moral of the story a payoff demand can not be unreasonably with held if a party can prove their interest in the real property which seems fairly evident in this case.

Great story and a lot of the times it is the story that moves and drives us.

It will broaden the first story of the house making it seem larger and it will break up the tall facade. 

I have been accepting rent checks at my credit union into my account for the past several years and it has worked out well untill I got a tenant that needed evicted and he put the rent kin knowing it would bounce with nsf - long story and I will address it at a further date.

This took 5 years before litigation ended. now the rest of the story, the properties I am a partner with were in an llc., they were brought up once in the beginning of the suit. showed llc proof. were never mentioned again.
