If my Inc buys the items from an individual and the purchase is well over the $600 threshold and I wanted to write off the purchase, I was under the impression that I would need a W-9 from them and to send them a 1099.

I was talking to a couple of agents who specialize in short sales and they both seem to be under the impression that in 3-4 months the banks are going to drastically limit the number of short sales they allow.They're not the only ones who have echoed this sentiment.

i spoke to a couple title agency and they all have the same costs, but they all ask me if i want to do a CURRENT OWNER SEARCH or more....im under the impression that all i need is a current owner search correct considering the property im speaking of has been owned by the same guy for 32 years.
