What you are referring to is a term which many of the broker dealers (who focus on traditional securities) use to articulate that an individual can control his/her IRA (compared to their 401k I imagine).

I can't imagine that a contractor would bring more to the table as a partner than as an employee/contractor, so bringing him in as a partner is just diluting your control and your profits.What happens when you realize that the contractor isn't very skilled?

While a meth house has to be remediated professionally, I can't imagine what you did to that house was very much less than meth remediation.I especially liked that you disclosed and allowed the first buyer to walk away.
