My wife and I also have a crap load of student loan debt (approx 580k @ 7%), does it make sense to pay that off before investing or is that just limiting my future income by doing that?

I'm currently a business administration and business law student at the University of Economics of Vienna, who has always been interested in the real estate market but who never really focused on this branche.My interest to invest in real estate aroused a few weeks ago when my grandfather sold two of his houses, which made me do a little bit of researching on this topic.I started my search on Quora, which lead me to the BiggerPockets' beginners guide and so now I'm here.By now I'm mostly interested in house flipping, since many of my relatives work in the construction industry and could help me out with the renovation.

Especially when you are participating in housing programs that can make you subject to close scrutiny for specific Fair Housing and ADA requirements.  

I would also like to partner with folks to invest locally or out-of-state.Looking forward to connecting, participating and growing with the community.

I have dreams of allowing them to go to college debt free and of paying off my sizeable student loan debt, as well.

I also have a similar goal, I do want to give back to the community and been active with it, I participate through Shriner's International who helps burnt and crippled children.

I have about 12 years left to pay it off...I make good money but I have a lot of student debt that puts me in a high risk category...Will you please tell me if its generally easier to qualify for a rental house in my situation or for a second home?
