As always, make sure if in an HOA that STR is specifically approved since if it isn't, it will likely be banned.

The buyer/borrower would need to fill out a complete application like they would at a bank and the seller would need to have a mortgage loan originator approve the file.

Do you have a copy of Portland's legislation that approves THoWs in R1 and R2?

There are very specific tests for approving a variance.  

So I should check with my county to see about getting a permitted apartment on the property, abide by those regulations, then FHA would recognize the property as a duplex/multiple family or whatever was approved by the county?

I can get approved for a 180k house.

I was able to get Pre-Approved for a VA loan.

Has the bank approved this number?
