I came across this concept but didn’t consider it as something that I’d intentionally invest in.

Because even on this level, I think the concept is sorely underappreciated.Many people take appreciation for granted, but I would argue that there is a "price" that must be paid in order to "gain" an appreciation of value.

Crowdfunding is an interesting concept and does allow a broad spectrum of investors.

You're right . . . a HELOC would have been substantially less in closing costs along the way, and overall much simpler.

It just means you don't have any cash because you "reinvested" it.The concept of "taking money/profits out of the business" only really makes any sense if you have a C Corp.
