If the breach is not remedied within the seven business days after receipt of the notice to terminate the lease, the rental agreement shall terminate on the date provided in the notice to terminate the lease unless the tenant adequately remedies the breach before the date specified in the notice, in which case the rental agreement shall not terminate.

On October 7 HUD issued a ruling that all apartments using agency debt or those with housing assistance must now give 30-days notice to residents before starting to evict them.

If it specifies some notice required, that's what they can do.

You'll notice that property taxes are automatically calculated based on millage rates for owner occupied vs. non-owner occupied rentals.Hope this helps!

I asked the owners to give them both notice to vacate before I purchased.

I noticed that the high end luxury apartment buildings are charging 1100-1500 for studios. 

Most states require you give 30 days notice in writing.

I've noticed it really helps them get in the mode to take action sooner than later.
