Hi,I work at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), but am no area expert, I live down by the Tappan Zee Bridge.  

What financial institutions do you recommend we go to to obtain the best rates.

Somewhere along the way I discovered REI as a much quicker and more interesting path to financial independence and after a year or so of reading different guides and blogs it seems way past time to get involved in the community.One aspect I’m particularly interested in is non-traditional financing.

I totally got taken on the price, the rehab costs way more than the original estimate (not the contractors fault-we discovered a fire had been in the house and covered up at some point and some structural issues needed attention) Here are the details-  I share all this because, even though embarrassing, I learned a lot and maybe I can help others be smarter than me!!
