If you have multiple properties where you can do this, you can finance a very nice lifestyle and still retain the underlying assets.Just curious the groups' thoughts on this?

No one is going to insure you with knob and tube so you need to focus on selling or doing the rewiring.

I think a 1031 exchange wouldn't be a bad idea if you're not making much on the property, and are worried about big repairs coming up in the near future. 

A lot of development is happening and she is not sure if she should hold on to it or try and sell it.
