There is quite a number of threads about this with various opinions and suggestions.I generally don't have an issue with giving out my account number (for legitimate reasons), not sure why people are super secretive about it.I don't see a real risk especially nowadays where you can watch your account online any minute plus with all the liability protections offered.Some services you don't have to give out your bank info to the tenant, too.And no, no reason to not do auto-pay, expect you don't want to to suck up a $3 fee or so (depending on the service chose).

This may not matter to you but it will if you sell this to to someone who needs to finance the property.

J Scott is correct, just not on a stated income basis without verification.

I guess if I lived in Nigeria I'd do what I had to to make a buck...or get a ticket out of there!

If you wait for the reinstatement verification til Wed and/or if you find out that the income just won't be enough to let him catch up, I'd try to arrange getting the tenant to vacate without an eviction.

Did the seller provide all the tenant rental application forms, credit report and score, income, bank statement and employment verification? 

I require tenants to to setup recurring monthly autopay from their checking account to mine via cozy.com.

I review their paystub and do employment verification myself. of everything is good then I collect the security deposit and first month rent at the signing of lease.
