@Jennifer Jackson to start, all the disclosures; not an accountant or tax attorney, just stating opinion not advice yadda yadda yadda....I think it's safe to assume it was advised c-corp as a "asset island" tactic, because it's rather common knowledge that it's far from tax advantageous to do c-corp at such a size.
