Yes, a substantial marketing budget makes it a lot easier, but it absolutely can be done with just gas in your car and internet access.I actually have a couple friends who did exactly that.

I had the 540I before that and it was decently fast for a V8 that still got good gas mileage, but compared to the M5 it is a bit slow.It will kill any stock Mustang GT, Camaro Z28, Trans Am, etc so it is well within the muscle car category for speed, yet it is refined, quiet inside, and you can get a nice used one for under 28-30K.I would never pay the retail on one at 70K+ though, I'm too frugal to ever buy a new car.I've had the Vipers, Ferrari 355's, etc and love this M5 better than all of them.Drove the Caddy CTS-V too and liked it, but it didn't have the feel of breadth that an M5 has around corners.
