Either way- it's to their benefit only.Dodd-Frank screwed up enough in this country - I don't think the purpose of their ruling was to stop renters from being able to buy a home.

Especially in the beginning it can be very helpful to ask questions one on one or just to meet another person who is walking the same path.  

Making assumptions can get you down the wrong path.
