Do NOT buy more house than you can comfortably buy for the sake of potential future revenue.    

With the high housing market in the past few years, house-hacking and living "rent free" is very tough almost everywhere in the country, especially if you are planning on putting <20% down (higher mortgage payments + PMI).

No offense, but absolutely, positively in no way shape or form would I, as a lender of over 30 years, provide a loan to someone with no out of pocket capital.

Hey @Marc Shin, as I said in your previous post I think 4.5 cuft is the minimum.If you can get a deal on a 5.0 and it will fit, then go with that.

Almost never to never in a million years if it's being auctioned.

If this is a bad deal because of $1,500/yr in interest run away and have your family sell the property. 

I see you had it as an off market pocket listing, can you share some of how you came to find the deal in the first place?  

Get architect into the house when you are in escrow, get all drawings and site visit done while in escrow along with prep to submit once you close 2.
