This almost happened to my friend in his large, posh SF apartment (they're pretty sloppy in the bigger places)--The office gave him a lower renewal rent lease and he was about to sign (and looking up legal rules if he should say anything or just keep his mouth shut and sign) but then they ran back to change it.As @Kathy Johnson mentioned, there needs to be consideration (they need to give you some amount of money for the contract to be valid-- same as when you put in an earnest deposit-- you can't just give $1 as that likely won't be upheld as real "consideration" in court). 

We decided that real estate investing is the way to go, and right now, we are trying to learn as much as we can so we can make good decisions when we are ready to start putting our money where our mouth is, so to speak.

planning to start my new business asap, with say 4-8 per mouth, south ontario windows and doors, if I don’t have any problems making my payments on time would you prefer this route for more property ?

Most of these agents live hand to mouth and are living off of any revenue they can bring in.

Ex that one person and a handful from word of mouth, probably just over half of interest came from the zillow/trulia listing and just under half from the yard sign.

But to the best of my knowledge, everyone I've ever rented to has lived and lives paycheck-to-paycheck, hand-to-mouth-to-a$$.

And if they are picking at pointless little things constantly present them with this:“You know, perhaps you’d be happier elsewhere as this doesn’t seem to be fitting with your needs currently.

Using all mediums, especially word of mouth.

All tenants pay their own utilities (except water/sewer) so an investor I couldn’t be happier.
