I've entertained the idea myself, but for me there's too many variables, and like you say, Morris. 

People are fleeing inner city high rises and want more space, with outdoor areas and preferably in the suburbs.

Indoor/outdoor, 4k video, night vision, motion detectors, and remote viewing with WiFi are all available for reasonable prices.

We've just decided to get started with our first investment property and instead of tying up our cash, we're entertaining a HELOC on our primary home to fund a down payment on a conventional mortgage. 

He replaced my outdoor & inside unit for a lot less when all the big companies were quoting me 5.5k+ , Good luck !!
