I have received the same feedback @Eric DeVito - it is people like us who can make the biggest changes I feel like. 

I know it may sound crazy but I went into real estate to do more acts of service and I believed helping others buy their dream homes and help them navigate through one of the biggest financial decisions they could  make in their  lives was probably one of the best ways I can serve others.

When he came round and saw the light Scrooge famously gave the biggest turkey he could find but that is different I sense than handing out a general purpose grocery card that could be washed in with other food needs and simply used to make ends meet.

Finding a good cleaner is the biggest, hardest, most important piece to all this IMO.

Communication is the biggest key with any PM, and you have to communicate with them as to how you want to participate.

The cost of the money you will need for the project is another factor as in many cases, it is the next biggest expense after the renovation itself - DO NOT FORGET TO FACTOR THAT IN!
