I was surprised it was so low as there is a lot of work to be done and having remodeled two other homes in the past I feel that it cannot be brought to the original condition for that price especially considering labor costs form a licensed contractor.What kind of recourse do I have to contest this low amount?

We remodeled the interior of the house, working around a boat that was in the living room (yes, you read that correctly, a boat... in the living room) for about 3 months.

The unit is all brick, brand new roof and 4 out of 5 units have been completely remodeled in the past 5 years, roof is les than 5 years old, all electric head (no furnaces!!!)

I think that doing a lot of the work yourself on your first deal can be a really important learning experience, because that way you'll understand forever how much work goes into that and you'll learn to understand how remodeling works.
