I am under a time crunch and would like to purchase the property asap (due to tax reasons).

Not likely, you rolled into this like a new person would have. chances, are you spent years building up your network. 

Trying to get a sense if it's even worth exploring this on a smaller scale like I'm talking about.

In my opinion, this is much more effective than texting, which often feels like a constant game of cat and mouse with phone carriers.

Although, I would like to have first access to foreclosure properties with HomePath's First Look Program, income/capital gain tax benefits from my PR, and more favorable loan terms. 

But, unless you’ve got a unique situation or tremendous wealth, like enough to trigger an inheritance tax, it MAY fit your needs at a very reasonable cost.
