@Christopher C If you are going after the short-term, executive market  {i.e. your furnishings and finishes say visiting executive}, then you should consider listing though a service like Executive Rentals or Corporate Stays. 

As has been pointed out, you don't have to do the inspection, however I would suggest you do (as long as it is practical to make the visit).  

I have always lived by the same principles having low personal expenses gives me assurance and allows me to sleep easy at night ????

I love Vancouver...have some friends there now I want to start visiting a lot more so I can explore.

I even reached out to the foreclosure attorney representing the bank and he said "I can assure you that if someone offers (bankname) a full payoff of their lien, it will be released."

I will just have to do a little extra work to build a good relationship from a distance with just one or two in person visits.
