If you want to know if any of teh exposed paint is an issue, pick up a test kit for under $20 at Lowe's or Home Depot. 

Our place is definitely the lowest rung on the ladder but the neighbors seem to appreciate how we've cleaned up the property by taking down dozens of old trees and adding giant gardens, fruit trees and even have a self-serve market stand that made enough last year to make three house payments.

I have been to The Window Depot.  

The home was a new construction and still within the builder's warranty, but the builder denied warranty saying it was misuse (garden hose should not be attached to outdoor faucet in winter).  

That way, when I realize "I need more 2.5 inch deck screws," that goes on the Home Depot list immediately and I keep working on whatever I was doing. 

For half the price or less of a new set from Home Depot you can usually get used appliances a year or two old easily.

What if you buy a 4-plex in a nice suburban area with a Hilton Garden Inn or Marriott nearby...but not a vacation market. 

Thank Goodness that I am a Veteran and can get discounts from many places like Home Depot.

Next time I will probably go back to Home Depot and get Allure (we have a HD credit account now and they give you a 5% discount if you show a Lowes credit card)

Depending on the $ of the neighborhood, you can go with cinder block, cross ties, landscape timbers, Home Depot wall system, etc.The wall I have is straight up like yours.
