Hi guys, I've been studying real estate investment for the better part of a year with an eye toward investment in residences, but something funny happened yesterday.I am expanding a brick and mortar nonprofit business (they exist) and the place we were looking to rent is also offering an option to sell.

Just like the property owner / landlord has rights so does the tenant, which are often not discovered until the situation enters a court of law. 

I spent a good year nearly every night online studying my new market, made one trip to tour homes (i live overseas), and got to the point where I was super comfortable with neighborhoods in the new market that I could make offers without seeing the house myself. 

Natalie, I highly recommend pursuing your real estate license, you won't be able to sit for the exam until you are 18, but you will be able to take the classes and study.

I've learned more on bigger pockets by listening to the podcasts and reading blogs than I did for the majority of my college career studying real estate finance.I use professional property management on my duplex in a college town.

Most people try to put down very little money to not worry about that.Of course the angry seller could always Google search his name and discover his stated intention to not actually buy the property.
