This experience soured me to the point where I invested only with my friend who acts as my GC or partner on different deals.

There are other parts of the Charleston area that are more friendly to STRs than City of Charleston, but they'll also be more regulated soon.The commercial multifamily inventory is really difficult here lately.

My best advice is start with personal recommendations from friends and family in the area, try driving for contractors; kinda like driving for dollars, but you are looking in areas where there is a lot of investor activity and start collecting cards.

Does anybody know a good investor-friendly real estate agent that can help me find 3-4 unit house in Passaic, Essex, Hudson, or Bergen counties?
