Couple this with the fact that Alberta is still considered a "have" province and is paying $19 billion/year in equalization payments to places like Quebec, who boasted a budget surplus and doesn't generally give its support to oilsands projects, and Alberta families are paying hundreds of dollars more per year for an empty "carbon tax", it feels to most here that the rest of Canada likes to kick Alberta when we're down.

I knew the development would sell and that's why we got into it originally......and in the end that proved to be the case.We are actually running at a lot surplus right now in PDX since our marketing systems are working so well for us......and the margins we are getting are pretty darn good, so I think for us PDX is the place to be for the near future.

Here by law they need to auction each property individually because the lien holders and then the previous owner would have a claim to any surplus funds.

This year they had a surplus, so it's nice that the local politicians have been able to figure out budgets without having to increase taxes at all.The 2 expenses that I've found tend to be higher as a % of property value are insurance and property taxes.
