Start small with duplexes or triplexes, analyze deals carefully, and build a team of local experts.

Personally, I advocate for a long-term investment strategy and would recommend investing the funds, provided you are comfortable with the expected return on investment over time.

As I start down one path, I have more questions which leads me down other paths with even more questions. 

Members of these in-house capital markets teams typically have prior experience working at multifamily debt brokerages, investments sales shops, etc., and a full rolodex / database of lenders whom they have rapport with to boot.
