I don’t see any mold from photos (just some water stains).I have no prior experience with mold.

They sell a rounded stair that you can stain and then put that on the tread/landing/flat part of the stairs.

If you're going to DIY the job, paint the back the of steps and take your time and sanding and stain the the tread.  

Dolomite counters are standing up really well-less care than granite and don't stain like marble.

Sure, white might show scuff marks and food stains a little more, but most will wipe right off with a damp cloth.

It did not get rid of mold staining though, which they explained pretty thoroughly.

You could save tons simply staining/sealing floors and painting.
