I suspect that this lady may be involved in the scam and then takes a cut of any money wired to the supposed lender. 

Lots of scams there too, especially in the resort areas.Also the property laws there are very different to here.

Banks/Lenders use a theory that if an investor encounters a loss be it in income, death, divorce, major sickness, or any other set back they are more likely to let their 2nd lien positions go in default before a 1st lien.Reason why I say this is although you have a great rate on the first mortgage you need to let it go and do a "Cash out refinance".

Be very careful of these fake on line lenders.. its a huge scam these days.. while 100% exists in the market place its only for well established long term repeat clients.

A friend did it and so far doesn't look like a total scam, but I guess a month in, he also hasn't started cash-flowing yet

No body wants to see someone scammed.
