Combine that with my personality type of being hyper focused and numbers driven (im an engineer) and I think it all combines well for REI.Work ethic means things for different people but when my dad tells me stories of teaching himself advanced math in high school in his dimly lit room or doing farming chores at 5 am every day, it really put things in perspective.
