In my local area, we have the (Michigan State Housing Development Authority, Grand Rapids Housing Commission, Kent County Housing Commission (and other counties), The Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), etc.)What I like:  Tenant is getting assistance from the govt so they only have to pay a portion of their rent. 

We have other rentals in MI that are cash-flowing well and have built up some equity.

In MN landlords have to send out a rent paid form for taxes, if Michigan doesn’t have any such requirements I don’t know why they’re sling.

My team and I are in the Detroit, MI marketplace and it is the market we've picked.
