Ginaout of curiosity how would a US citizen be taxed on rental income generated in Italy ?

Lots of great responses from CA residents on this thread but is it fair to say that the outward migration on CA citizens is of overwhelmingly greater interest to folks who don’t live in CA and have nothing much to do with CA!

If someone is on VA disability or is a senior citizen on social security, and the cost of living keeps them from affording to rent without assistance, then they can get a voucher.

If you buy in a foreign land, you will be subject to their local laws, etc... some places to buy you must be a citizen, some dont offer financing to foreigners, etc... just be prepared and knowledgeable on what you are getting into. 

Americans Working Abroad and Income Declaration:- Additionally, I'm wondering about the scenario where an individual is an American citizen working abroad and did not fully declare all of their income or any income at all, how might this impact their eligibility for an FHA loan?

The substantial income it generates helps us offset the cost of providing affordable housing for our senior tenants and others with fixed income.
