That does not mean they are not out there on the west cIast it’s just going to be a much different return on investment compared to say the Midwest and the appreciatIon factor wIll be hIgher In hot markets .

Forbes has a habit of putting something like this out every few years.The "bad" thing about investing your IRA in real estate is that the main Wall Street players do not have control over your funds and the means to earn commissions selling financial instruments.His arguments are entirely tilted towards to negative and not providing any context or perspective.I could just as easily pick 3 or 4 historically bad stock investments (Enron) or high fee annuities, and make it sound like that was all that you could expect if you went to a conventional brokerage - which is clearly not the case.For someone who understands real estate as an asset class, there is the potential to have your IRA produce consistent returns and have true diversification away from the news-cycle volatility of conventional financial products.

Make sure you factor in your flood insurance cost and I would also require renters to have additional flood insurance for contents on top of their regular renters insurance.

Thank you @Justin Robert , he said that the main panel is wired through an old frayed wire and that the interior wire is run outside the house then back in and that the range outlet is unsafe.

As in, a 10,000 person town I'd stay away from - you want a reasonably diversified economy...Here's the main concern I have with your startup plan - Inevitably investing out of your area will put someone locally in a stronger position with regards to negotiating.
