I wanted to get some feedback and see if anyone has used Colony Finance America and what their experience was with them.

Looking back and telling the story now, it sounds like an episode of "American Greed." 

I agree in simple promissory note fashion to a 12 month loan at a set rate, with payoff at the end.  

AH4R (American Homes For Rent) is no longer acquiring in Wake county (Raleigh) and hasn't since 2016Q2.

I don't know about that particular company, but I used to work for a modular home manufacturer in the Midwest called All American Homes. 

How are average American businesses supposed to plan for anything?

Following these types of questions in an honest fashion will lead you to the root of your problems so that you can solve them, but one thing I can promise you for sure is that it is not the market's fault, and therefore trying to blame the market and move to another won't solve a thing ... in fact, it is likely to create more and other problems IMO.
