I recently purchase a home in Burkburnett when I moved here earlier this year, and I planned on purchasing some more affordable properties in Wichita to rent and hold but the more time I spend in the area I just don't see anything really going on growth wise for this city.

Thankfully I hired a large international forestry concern who then hired attorney in Mexico city so for about 5k I found out it was simply impossible for us to do that deal.. it was Ahedo land native Mexican Indians I am probably not spelling it right.. but it was cool it there is a Mtn Range running through the middle of Baja that is about 8k feet high and so there was/is old Growth Pine..

@Jason YoungI totally get the desire to own a mortgage free property, but if you are in growth phase right now into retirement, you could do much better with leveraged double digit returns on multiple properties.

However, it is an excellent area for jobs, growth, appreciation, underserved rental market and not many “bad areas” so great for rentals.

I believe Sanford will be great for long term rentals, it will be where the growth expands to next.
