If that is what is giving them heartburn, they may be able to balloon it with a longer amortization (if it doesn't fall under the new Dodd Frank rules) or go variable to extend the term.

Well, for starters, if you have a mortgage and you have an extended vacancy, you will need reserves or other funds to cover those vacancies.
